Show Full Referring Page in Google Analytics

I was going to write up this fancy tutorial on how to create a custom filter that would give you the full referral path in your Traffic Sources area of Google Analytics. I got all the way to the end and realized that it’s already built into Google Analytics! Silly me. I swear this wasn’t there before…

Instead, here’s what you have to do to see the exact page that someone clicked to get to your site.

1. Click “Traffic Sources”
2. Click “Referring Sites”
3. Click the name of a site to show the exact referring page on that site:

3 Comments:

  1. I want to quote your post in my blog. It can?
And you et an account on Twitter?

  2. Feel free to post this on your blog, as long as you link back to my site. Thanks!

  3. That filter would still be useful, because if (like me) you have to report on the full paths on referring sites, clicking for details gets OLD after the first ten or so.

Twitter has a Facebook fan page, and Facebook has a Twitter profile. Something seems wrong about that. It's like dividing by zero.
